My Messiah's Handbook

In Illusions, Richard Bach tells of the Messiah's Handbook, a document which opens to tell you whatever you need to know at the time. It can answer questions, give suggestions, and in general help to guide you in your path and direction. But even better, is the fact that you can do this yourself, with any text. Take the newspaper, take a novel, take anything, and use it as your guide. Open it to a random page, point to a word or passage and that is your answer. It works shockingly well.

Well I tried it this morning again.

I used Richard Bach's Bridge Across Forever, which I'm currently reading thanks to E's prompting. And it seemed appropriate, as the question I had was "what can I do so that E and I can be together, so that our time together can come?" I pointed into the book and the word I hit was "freedom". The actual passage was "freedom from all my lady-friends".

Okay, well, obviously. Thanks for the insight.

So how, was my next question, do I get free from my lady-friends...or really more specifically, the one I live with? The next word I got was "location". And I don't remember the passage associated with it, even though I read it. The key word here is "location".

But what, exactly, does that mean? My initial impression was that it's related to being somewhere in particular, being at or going to a specific location. I don't know if it has something to do with this fall's trip to China that S has been rabid about the last week or so, or what. Maybe it's that she or I needs to be at the right location.

The other thing that's struck me just now is that I would need to change my location, as in, I move out. Maybe that's what it means, that really the only thing keeping E and I apart right now is simply location. I can see that, it makes sense. Don't quite see how that answers my question, but then again, maybe the IS is just being a smartass too. Wouldn't be the first time, and would actually match up with the smartass answer I got to the first question.

That's the trouble with Messiah handbooks, they cause as many questions as they answer half the time...

[Edit, 5pm: I tried E's khi today...got a smartass answer from it too...yup, I'm getting smartass answers for sure. I think the real answer is there's nothing I particularly can do to manage this process...I'm a passenger, so sit back and leave the driving to the IS...]
