Facetious bastard!

That was what E called me when she casually suggested I blog this...

Yes, she asked again!

"Here," she said, "could you hold this for me?" She held out the shopping bag with her newly purchased book and card holder, while trying to balance out her hat and gloves to head out into the pouring drizzle. We'd been out at the Starbucks for a mocha and of course the opportunity to check out the books in the attached Chapters. (It's funny, sometimes I think it's a bookstore with a coffee shop inside; others I think of it as a coffee shop with an attached bookstore)

After a really fun time together, for me at least, we were headed out so I could drive her up to meet her father for her uncle's viewing. We paused in the entrance, she handed me the bag of stuff she'd bought on the QT and asked me to hold it for her. Then she said "and you can blog it too, you facetious bastard". Funny how you can say that with a smile in your voice...

It really made my day. Not the facetious bastard part, but the seeing her part. I love being with her, seeing her, having fun together, just being together. I like to be by her side. It's where I feel 'rightest', if you know what I mean. Like I've found a piece of me I didn't even know was missing, or maybe like I'd remembered a thought I'd been trying to find. Yeah, that's it. Like something I'd been searching for in my memory or my conscious thoughts, that thing that's on the tip of your tongue but you can't remember it, is suddenly recalled. She's my other brain, and I hers; we're joined at the mind, and at the heart.
