I figured it out
I know now what her problem is.Yeah, it's been another frosty weekend. And in the back and forth of us getting nowhere I have finally worked out why she has such an issue with E. It's not that she thinks we're sleeping together, she knows we're not. But the plumbing thing is part of it.
I think that what her big problem is, is that unlike her, E and I have a connection. We share common interests and mutual mind spaces. Add to that the fact that our plumbing is complementary and S' paranoia goes into high gear. It's why she says that E and I are "too close". It's because we can actually talk about stuff.
Huh, go figure. Actually being able to talk to another human being.
But oh, wait, I forgot, E isn't a human being, she's a woman, and as such it means that sex could break out between us at any time (or something). She says that she wouldn't be the same way if it was Lou, or Danielle or any other woman at work, but I suspect that isn't the case at all, that's just her delusion talking. Heck, I remember when she was phoning to check up on me and make sure that Jacob was really a man. (sorry J...she did wonder. Guess the beard didn't clue her in enough) So I know what her reaction would be, it'd just take longer for it to show up.
Well, where does that leave me? No where different really, aside from the fact that I have a greater understanding of what her problem is. And nothing there is about to change. I mean, every attempt I've made to put something common between us has been roundly rejected. Now I don't even see a reason to bother trying. It's just another nail in the coffin, another bit of disconnect that can never be rectified. And honestly, that doesn't bother me. Maybe that makes me a bad person, but it's the truth.
