Images of you
I like to look at that photo I took of you. It was just over two years ago now (the date stamp says September 10, 2004). I love that picture of you, because it is just so very you. You're in one of your favorite places in the world (a bookstore), you're wearing that shirt that is just so much the attitude you have, and that I adore. You're smiling, but it's that uneasy smile that says how little you like having your picture taken. Thank you for indulging me and letting me take a reminder of you away with me.I love that photo because it's so quintessentially you. And I like to look at it, because it lets me see you when I can't. I see it, and I think of you, and your sweetness and kindness to me, and all those things you do for me, and all the fun we have together. I think of the coffee shop in that bookstore, and sharing drinks, and talk, and laughter. How we enable each other to buy things that we want, and share the results of what we get. My best times are with you.
I look at the photo and I see you before me, not a flat, two dimensional, rasterized image; but the real you, the living, breathing, fun, vibrant, beautiful woman you are. The one I love and love to be with.
I look at that photo and it's like a mental hug that warms my heart.
